Dentistry at Westport Family Dental in Kansas City, MO
Your first visit sets the tone for all future visits, so we do everything possible to ensure that it is as pleasant and stress-free as possible. We want you to feel confident and informed when you arrive at our dental office for the first time, so here are some questions we commonly hear from patients about their first visit to Westport Family Dental. Whether you are looking for dental implants, oral surgery, dentures or any other dental treatment, we can help!
How early should I arrive for my first appointment?
If you haven’t filled out our downloadable patient intake forms online, please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointed time. If you want to complete your paperwork beforehand, visit our Patient Portal.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
-
Submit New Patient Registration Form
-
Dental Insurance Card
-
Identification such as Driver’s License, Military ID, or State ID
How long will my first appointment last?
The length of the first appointment varies because everyone comes to us with different needs. Typically, every first visit starts with a consultation with one of our dentists who evaluates your overall oral health.
In many cases, we can perform a dental cleaning on your first visit. But if we find you need extensive periodontal maintenance, we will arrange a subsequent appointment and discuss financing and insurance benefits.
Why do I have to have an exam if I only want my teeth cleaned?
At Westport Family Dental, we believe we must treat patients to the best of our abilities through transparency. Exams are completed by a dentist every six months unless otherwise indicated.
How long does it take to get into the schedule?
Whether you’re a long-term patient or visiting us for the first time, we believe in serving all of our patients to the best of our ability. For this reason, we always leave time in our schedule throughout the week for new or emergency patients. Our front desk team is excellent at managing our bookings, so give us a call at (877) 316-7516.
